Doug comes from a Montana contracting family with a strong hunting background. He has spent years in the field and knows the Jennings River area inside and out.

After hunting across North America, Doug chose to base his operation here for its wild country, strong game populations, and true remote hunting experience.
​
He is also the holder of the SCI Canada moose world record, taken at Jennings River. More importantly, he is committed to providing honest, hard hunts built on experience, local knowledge, and respect for the land.
Nic has been part of the territory since his teens and has been guiding here since the late 1980s. His decades of experience on the land bring a steady, knowledgeable approach to every hunt.

A retired veteran, Nic values hard work, preparation, and respect for the country. Along with his wife Safana and their three boys, Aydin, Alex, and Alister, he helps run operations at Swan Lake Base Camp and looks forward to welcoming you into camp.

Jennings River Outfitters operates in some of the northernmost country in British Columbia, right along the Yukon border. From our base at Swan Lake, the only road access leads north into the Yukon, giving you a sense of just how remote this region is.

Our territory spans over 3,400 square miles of wild country at the northern edge of the Cassiar Mountains, between the Stikine Ranges to the east and the Coast Range to the west. Towering peaks, alpine basins, mountain creeks, and wide valleys create ideal habitat for moose, sheep, and other northern game.
​
This is true wilderness hunting. Access into the area is by aircraft, horseback, or on foot, and we operate a network of 17 remote camps across the territory. This allows us to hunt different areas effectively while maintaining low pressure and a high-quality experience.
​
A typical hunt can include time in the high country glassing, working alpine meadows, or covering river valleys depending on the season and species. Each hunt is planned around the hunter, with a focus on time in the field and making the most of the country.
